Merry Christmas

I just called home a few minutes ago, poor MEG got a Christmas visit to the ER this morning. Apparently, she developed an allergic reaction (a rash) from some medicine she is taking. She is doing fine now, but Braye took her in just to be safe. I spoke with MEG a few minutes ago and she is in great spirits and is very excited about her presents.

Christmas was fine out here, although I miss all of you. I’m glad that this is the last Christmas I will be away from the family.

Hey Stimp:

Christmas here was wet today. Peter brought his "dog" Randy. It's a long-haired, black Chihuahua that he should carry around in a purse. It saw my (admittedly) wimpy dog Hermione and panicked, leaving little turd pellets all over the place. We broke his chops about it all day. He looks great, though, and seems to be happy with business.

Kary and the boys were here. The boys' big gift was a basketball hoop. We actually got to play with it when it stopped raining. They're pretty enthusiastic athletes and they seemed to have fun. Kris, the girls and I also gave them a machine that shoots out footballs. If it doesn't kill someone first, they're going to get a lot of use out of it. Kary and Vahid (when he was awake) were great. We all missed you.

Kris, Kary, Vahid and I tried to play the LOST game tonight -- Kris got it for me for Christmas. The toy is aptly named because we couldn't make heads or tails of the directions! It was fun just spending time together, though.

Arlis and Pete had a wonderful meal for us -- roast loin of beef with carrots, asparagus, and potatoes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We all called Grandma and Grandpa Galloway to thank them for their gifts. They're upbeat, but we wish they were here with us.

We're all awaiting Braye and the girls tomorrow. Kris and I are taking care of dinner, so tell her to get here by then or, with this crew, the food may be gone!

We'll write again tomorrow. Take care.

PS: Still looking for the pink flamingo... Last week the girls couldn't find a flamingo in NJ, so they mailed you some really cheesy snow stickers for your windows. You'll be the envy of the neighborhood.

David: We were thinking of you this Christmas. It was a bitter sweet Christmas knowing you were in Iraq. Last night we all went to Christmas Eve service. The boys got to hold their lit candles through two long Christmas carols. There's a little candle wax on the pew cushions in front of us. Santa arrived at Kary's house in Mooresville as well as our house here for the girls. Then Kary's family joined us around 1:00 for opening more presents and a big beef tenderloin dinner.
It has rained this whole long day. Probably there's been a little snow in the mtns, however. We can't wait for Braye and the girls tomorrow. Stay safe and well.Aunt A.
